Canal Boat Diaries presenter returns to the city where it all began

The much-loved TV series Canal Boat Diaries is back on our screens from 19th May on U&Yesterday, and this time presenter Robbie Cumming is taking a nostalgic trip through the waterways of London - the place where his boating journey first began.

Robbie returns aboard his narrowboat, the Naughty Lass, to the capital’s canals nearly a decade after discovering his passion for life afloat.

“It was while travelling through the Islington Tunnel almost 10 years ago that I knew this was the life for me,” says Robbie. “Since then, I’ve cruised rivers and canals all over the country, clocking up thousands of miles. But London still has a special place in my heart. Revisiting the Grand Union and Regent’s Canal was exciting - though a lot has changed. There are definitely more people living on boats now!”

In the new series, Robbie moors outside the London Canal Museum and pays a visit to Camden, where he gets involved in creating some bespoke, canal-inspired clothing - a true one-off.

Canal Boat Diaries airs on U&Yesterday from 19th May and is also available to stream for free.
