This activity bar is a great shout for an out of the ordinary Mother’s Day celebration

Let’s face it, not all mums want scones and facials, so you might be scratching your head trying think of a suitable way to celebrate Mother’s Day that isn’t your usual afternoon tea or spa visit.

If you’re looking for something a bit different that is also loads of fun, an activity bar like Electric Shuffle is a great option.

This beautiful bar, with venues on Bermondsey Street and Canary Wharf's Cabot Square, promises bold cocktails, tasty bites, brunch with a difference and, for those who want to play, a high-tech version of shuffleboard.

The aim of the game (there are four to choose from) is to slide pucks down a board and try to land them in the right spot to gain the highest score. The ‘high-tech’ part relates to the cameras at each play space that follow the pucks to keep score and record the best moves for fun on-screen action replays. These replays are later delivered to your inbox as stories so you can relive the memories with mum later.

Perfect for groups of all ages (18+), this is one that the whole family can enjoy. It’s a great way to get everyone together for a bit of family competition now that the Monopoly board is probably firmly stashed away until next Christmas. Or why not grab some mates and their mums for the ultimate mums and sons or daughters' day out?

For the brunch loving mums, Electric Shuffle’s bottomless brunch puts a twist on this Mother’s Day classic. At this two-hour brunch session running on Saturday 29th March and Mothering Sunday itself, “bottomless” refers to the endless sourdough pizza that is brought to your table from start to finish. It just keeps on coming, for the full two hours! On top of endless pizza, you’ll get a bottle of prosecco each and 60-minutes of shuffleboard. Tickets are from £38.
