New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Newham’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Umai Japan Centre, at 1 Great Eastern Market, Westfield Stratford City, Montfichet Road, Stratford was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on February 15.

And Bronze Royale, at 319 Romford Road, Forest Gate, London was given a score of one on February 15.

It means that of Newham's 584 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 349 (60%) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
