Tottenham predicted XI vs Liverpool: two changes and £40m star man definitely returns

Tottenham will travel to Anfield at the back of three straight defeats and looking for answers.

Tottenham's season is fading away badly after another disappointing evening where they were completely dominated by Chelsea and deservedly beaten 2-0.

The Lilywhites now need Aston Villa to drop points if they are to secure Champions League football for next season. They are seven points behind Unai Emery’s side who have played one game more, the problem with Spurs is that their game in hand is against Manchester City

They will have to complete their first double-over Liverpool since 2010 and win their remaining three games after that to stand a chance of finishing in fourth place. On the injury front, they will not be able to recover both Ben Davies and Destiny Udogie.

Midfielder Oliver Skipp is however likely to return and James Maddison who was dropped against Chelsea can start. Spurs need Maddison to rediscover his best form, he’s been way off it since his return from injury and that has led to him being dropped against Chelsea on Thursday night.

When he plays well Tottenham play well and when they went eight games unbeaten at the start of the campaign, he was a key part of that set-up, making goals and scoring them.

When Ange Postecoglou took over the aim was to set up a team that would at least compete, his brilliant start sold fans dreams before things fell apart. Liverpool themselves are not playing well so this is a meeting between two teams that have fallen badly at the final stretch of a season that promised so much.

So with the Lilywhites in desperate need of all three points, here is the team we anticipate Postecoglou will name for the game.
