James Maddison has been one of the Spurs stars struggling for form recently.

Tottenham Hotspur star James Maddison took to social media on Friday evening to voice frustration with the side's latest exploits after three back-to-back defeats.

Manchester United, Newcastle United and Chelsea have closed the gap on Ange Postecoglou's side with four matches left to play as the race for European football hots up. Spurs face Liverpool and Manchester City in their next three as the side looks for a change in fortunes.

Tottenham Hotspur have conceded nine in their last three Premier League defeats, the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night following a 3-2 loss in the north London derby against Arsenal and a 4-0 drubbing from Newcastle United at St James' Park.

Posting a series of images from the meeting with Mauricio Pochettino's men on his Instagram story, Maddison wrote: "Disappointed with our performances of late. Working hard to put it right. That's all we can do."

The England international hasn't registered a goal or assist in his last seven league appearances for his side, and has notched just once in 2024. Maddison started on the bench against Chelsea, the first time he was left out of the starting XI since returning from injury in January.

The first chance for Spurs to regain form comes on Sunday afternoon with a visit to Anfield. Postecoglou's side is boosted by the Reds' recent form, with a draw to West Ham and defeat to Everton likely to have put an end to their title hopes.

Speaking after defeat to Chelsea, the Aussie said: "It’s not good enough and I’ve got to take responsibility for that it’s on me. I have to look at myself and see how I can have more of an impact.

"When we put in a performance like we did in the first half it’s clear the message isn’t getting through.

"Look mate we didn’t play well. That’s on me. I thought their first goal was a foul but that’s just me. We didn’t deserve to get anything out of the game."
