Tottenham blow as key forward is set to miss Chelsea Premier League clash due to injury

Tottenham are sweating over the fitness of star forward who has been key for the Lilywhites.

Tottenham are set to be without Timo Werner for their visit to Stamford Bridge tomorrow night after he was forced off against Arsenal at the weekend. Werner has scored two goals and assisted three times since he joined from RB Leipzig in January.

Spurs are hoping for a massive response after the defeat to Arsenal at home and their Champions League dreams are slowly fading away with Aston Villa seven points ahead of them even though they have played two games more.

They need a win against Chelsea before games against Liverpool and Manchester City come along but the loss of Werner is a blow given he’s played 13 league games since he joined the club. At the weekend, he started and was forced off with manager Ange Postecoglou confirming they have to take a closer look at him.

He told reporters after the game: “He felt his hamstring. We will find out the extent of it.”

Chelsea hoping for some form of European football

Chelsea looking for their win in the last four games but showed incredible strength to come back from two goals to earn a point against Aston Villa.

Chelsea want any form of European having invested heavily in the squad. There is increasing pressure to finish the season on a high after they missed European football entirely this season.

They missed the chance to win a trophy when they lost to Liverpool in the League Cup final and lost to Manchester City in the semi-final stage of the FA Cup.
