Chelsea are said to be keeping an eye on a fast-developing situation involving a possible transfer target.

Chelsea are being linked with one of the world’s best strikers.

The Blues have already spent more than £1billion under Todd Boehly, who has only been in place for around 18 months. But having secured a number of sales over the summer, Chelsea are still likely in a position where they can send more money in January if they so choose, even with their investments yet to impress so far.

The Blues currently have just one win in the Premier League this season, and Mauricio Pochettino has a big job on his hands to turn things around.

There may be a quick-fire way to get Chelsea into gear, though, and especially with striker Christopher Nkunku out injured. According to TalkSPORT, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is of interest amid a complicated situation surrounding him at Napoli.

Osimhen was valued at more than £100million by the Serie A giants over the summer, preventing any move despite interest from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United. But last week the club’s social media team mocked him on their TikTok channel, putting a silly-sounding voice over the top of footage showing him asking for a penalty to be awarded. The clip then showed him missing the penalty before cutting off.

Osimhen’s agent has since stated that his client is considering legal action, but he is not holding out, with the striker having reported for team duties in the meantime. According to the TalkSPORT report, Chelsea are monitoring the situation in case the superstar striker becomes available.

Pochettino wants a striker in Janaury and Brentford reportedly want £60million for Ivan Toney. With that in mind, Chelsea may be tempted to pay more to land Osimhen if that situation unravels further.
