Barcelona have signed Chelsea’s Danish defender and will present him to their fans over the weekend.

Barcelona have agreed a deal with Andreas Christensen and will announce the signing of the defender this weekend, according to a report on Mundo Deportivo.

The Danish defender has been linked with the Spanish giants all summer and it will come as no surprise as he finally gets a chance to play for a club he has always dreamt of.

Christensen spent eight years at Chelsea where he won multiple trophies including the Champions League, and was one of the pillars of the Thomas Tuchel era that has over achieved.

In recent months his relationship with the Chelsea fans has waned because he reportedly asked to be left out of the FA Cup final against Liverpool at Wembley, a game Chelsea lost on penalties.

His departure alongside that of defender Antonio Rudiger has left the Blues short at the back, and they are chasing signings to augment the team.

Chelsea finished the campaign in third place and even though they got to the final of both FA Cup and Carabao Cup, they lost both to Liverpool and ended the season looking a pale shadow of the team that started with so much promise and energy.

Thomas Tuchel will now hope that with the departure of Christensen, Lukaku and Rudiger he will be empowered to bring in players who can help push the team to the next level and get back competing for the league and Champions League.

The Blues have been strongly linked with Raheem Sterling from Manchester City and are closing in on players like Raphinha, who has been nothing but sensational for Leeds United and leading from the front as they avoided relegation.

At Barcelona, Christensen is set to fight for a spot with the likes of Ronald Araujo, Gerard Piqué and Eric García.
