Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur had a fierce battle throughout the 2021/22 season with both fighting for a place in the 2022/23 Champions League tournament.
With Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea unreachable, only one spot was left up for grabs and ultimately Spurs were able to prevail over their North London rivals to claim the final place in Europe’s most coveted tournament.
West Ham were another of the London clubs fighting for their own entry into Europa and, despite strong performances throughout the season, must console themselves with a seventh place finish and a UEFA Europa League Conference league place.
Fans rejoiced in the return of admittance into the stadiums and were able to share in the trials and tribulations of their teams as they had before Covid-19.
With a few weeks break ahead of the next season, fans will be rushing to buy their next year’s season tickets with some of the London clubs likely to expect more of a surge than others.
