The Met Police has released a video after a man was left with life-changing injuries in an Islington pub during an Arsenal match.

Police have released a video of a person they want to trace after an assault in a pub in Islington left a man with "life-changing" facial injuries.

On April 26 2023 a 33-year-old man was watching a football match between Arsenal and Manchester City in a pub in Tollington Park at around 8.30pm.

Police say he became involved in a "brief verbal altercation" with another man, who produced a knife and slashed the victim's face, leaving a "deep laceration" from his left cheek to his lip.

The victim was taken to hospital by paramedics. Though not life-threatening, the victim continues to receive treatment for his injury, the Met Police said.

The suspect left before the police arrived and, following extensive enquiries, Scotland Yard has made a public appeal.

Det Cons Danitza Iniesta, from the local policing team in Islington, said: "The pub was busy with people who were watching the Arsenal v Manchester City game that night. We believe the victim and suspect spoke a few times throughout the evening without issue, before this horrific act of violence unfolded.
