Premium Bonds Draw December: did anyone in London win high value prize in last Premium Bonds draw of 2022?

The final National Savings and Investment Premium Bonds draw of 2022 has taken place today, ensuring two lucky Premium Bond holders have a very merry Christmas taking away the two £1m jackpots. But how did London fair in December during the prize draw?

The two lucky recipients of the £1m sweepstakes come from Wandsworth and Highlands and Islands, with one winner holding a bond worth £20,000 to earn the jackpot, while the other winner a mere £5,000 bond that captures them the big prize.

London also fared quite well during the Premium Bonds December draw, with three people earning £50,000 for the festive season, another three winning £25,000 and no less than 16 people in the London area picking up a cool £10,000 to make the winter months a little more tolerable.

Every month Premium Bond holders are entered into a draw for cash prizes ranging between the two £1m jackpots down to £25. A unique bond number is issued for every £1 invested, so a £100 investment in premium bonds would equate to 100 bond numbers, each with a chance to win after being held for a full month.

Those numbers are then generated at random by NS&I’s random-number generator, ERNIE, and the winning bond numbers receive their prize tax free.
